Third Sector Development
Strategy
The third sector review, the largest scale consultation with the third
sector was conducted by the Government in 2007. Following this the
Government has intended to give third sector organisations a greater
voice and to work with the sector to strengthen communities, transform
public services, encourage social enterprise and support the conditions
for the sector to thrive.
As you may be aware two third sector visioning workshops were held in
July 2007 and November 2007, involving a wide range of third sector and
public sector organisations, to identify issues facing the third sector
and to form a strategy to develop the capacity and support the
activities of the third sector in Swindon.
The Strategy is open for consultation from now until Friday 12th
September 2008. Your input is vital to ensure that the Strategy properly
reflects the diversity of views from and relating to the third sector.
