Compact
The Compact is an agreement between voluntary and community organisations and the statutory sector to enhance and improve working relationships. The Swindon Compact Working Group was set up in 2003 to work on the Swindon Compact and the five Codes of Practice, for which Voluntary Action Swindon chairs and facilitates the Working Group. This cross-sector partnership works to create and develop the Swindon Compact. Partners include Swindon Borough Council, Swindon Primary Care Trust, Wiltshire Constabulary, Wiltshire Association of Town & Parish Councils, Learning & Skills Council Swindon & Wiltshire, Swindon Coalition of Disabled People, Swindon Federation of Community Organisations, Swindon Racial Equality Council and Voluntary Action Swindon.
Following the launch of the Swindon Compact in March 2005, the Swindon Compact Working Group has recently completed the five Codes: Funding, Volunteering, Consultation, Community Groups and Black & Minority Ethnic Groups.
The Compact Implementation Group has been set up to monitor and evaluate the progress of the Compact.
